Red grape varieties

Domaine Grand-Chemin’s tasting area is located in the centre of Savignargues in the Gard department. We welcome visits all year round from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays by appointment.

Let yourself be tempted by a tasting and discover our red varietal wines and blends.

From the ‘Les Sentiments’ range, Désir de Rouge, blended from Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot, shows captivating red fruit aromas and impeccable balance. This is a wine to share with friends.

The ‘Origines’ range has two single varietal red wines. The first, Le Bay, a 100% Pinot Noir, is a light, supple wine suffused with delicate notes of cherries including morello cherry. The second, Les Combes, is a red wine made entirely from Cabernet-Sauvignon. It is the perfect choice for poultry and cheeses.

Continuing with the red wines are two labels from the ‘Souvenirs’ range. First is JMF, the signature label of estate manager Jean Marc Floutier. This is a surprising, offbeat red wine blended from the unlikely combination of Pinot Noir and Cabernet-Sauvignon.

Duché d’Uzès, the next in the line-up, is the estate’s only red appellation wine (Protected Designation of Origin Duché d’Uzès). Made from Syrah and Grenache, this fruity, rounded wine offers undeniable appeal with its spicy and red fruit notes.

In the ‘L'Histoire’ range is Clos Rogé, a red wine made from Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. This powerful wine delivers great aromatic complexity and is the perfect foil for game and cheeses.

An introduction to the estate’s red wines culminates in its top-end bottling Béa, vintage 2010, from the ‘L'Héritage’ range. Made from five different grape varieties it is ballasted with aromatics and will certainly make an impression on your guests' taste buds!
